The Junior Learn to Row program runs on Monday to Friday from9 am until noon, from July 6 to 10 and is designed for youth aged 13 to 18 who want to try rowing for the first time. No previous rowing experience is required. The program introduces participants to rowing safety, proper technique, and boat handling in a supportive and enjoyable learning environment led by experienced instructors. Training begins with land-based instruction to help students understand the basics before progressing to on-water practice on the Grand River. Participants will have the opportunity to try both sculling (rowing with two oars) and sweep rowing (rowing with one oar), while building strength, improving cardiovascular fitness, and developing teamwork skills. Participants must be able to swim in order to take part in the program. A minimum of four people is required for the class to run. If weather conditions interfere with training sessions, participants will erg at the club. If there are 3 or more inclement weather days in a session, participants may be asked to join coached rows to ensure their safety on the water. Those registering can choose to sign up for the Junior Learn to Row camp only ($260)and purchase a membership later($160), or select the Junior Learn to Row membership bundle ($360), which includes both the camp and membership together.
