Junior After School Program (May-June) |
This program is for school age children that have not previously rowed. The program will introduce the rowing stroke, and boat and on water safety. Rowers will work with a qualified coach in large stable boats and will be introduced to smaller single rowing shell as their skill progresses. The program runs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 4:30pm starting in May. Rowers will be encouraged to join our Summer Youth Development Program which runs daily during July and August. Junior Competitive Rowing Program |
The Junior Competitive Rowing Program is a full year on water rowing program offered to school age youth. This program is for experienced junior athletes with previous rowing experience who plan to compete in local and national regattas. This program is for the full on water season and athletes will work with a competitive rowing coach. Membership includes RCA and Row NS fees. Learn to Row (10 sessions) |
The Learn to Row program is designed to introduce athletes to the sport of rowing in a fun and safe environment. Through weekend and evening sessions (approx. 10 sessions) athletes will work with our coaching staff to learn basic rowing skills using large stable rowing shells. The program will introduce scull rowing (two oars) with a progression into sweep rowing (one oar). Following completion of the Learn to Row program, athletes are encouraged to join a rowing program and continue to row for fun and fitness. $60 of the program fee will be credited to a rowing membership. Masters Drop In Recreational Program (Evenings) |
This program is designed for recreational Masters rowers (individuals over the age of 21) who want to improve their rowing skills in a recreational environment. If you are looking for additional rowing times and potentially plan to compete you are encouraged to sign up for our Masters Competitive program. Membership includes RCA and Row NS fees. Member Boat Storage |
Private Member Boat Storage is $185 and for fully paid members only. If you are paying boat storage online you MUST be sure you have paid your membership first and have received a confirmation email, otherwise the system will charge you for RCA and Row NS fees. If done correctly the $44.40 RCA and Row NS fee will be deducted from your payment and a boat storage fee of $185 with be charged. This registration is designed for North Star athletes who have been invited to train with the Provincial Training Program only**. All others should register with Senior/U23/University High Performance. Athletes in this program will compete for North Star at club regattas and for Team Nova Scotia at national and international regattas. Membership includes RCA and Row NS fees. Senior/U23/University HP Full On Water Season |
This program is designed for athletes looking for a highly competitive rowing environment and who plan to compete at locally, nationally or internationally regattas. Rowers have access to elite rowing shells and will train with the club Head Coach. Athletes are expected to have a high level of commitment and proficiency and will train between 4 and 6 times per week at 5:30 am on weekdays and 7am on Saturday. Additional practice times may be available at 6pm. Membership includes RCA and Row NS fees. Fees must be paid before taking part in any on the water activities. The summer program runs during July and August daily from 8:30-11:30 am. Membership includes RCA and Row NS fees. This registration is for those looking for a weekly program fee and the cost is $179.40 for the first week to include RCA and Row NS fees and $135 for each subsequent week.
