2021 Adult Development Program

Adult Development Program ***$220*** Monday & Thursday 6-8 & Saturday 8-10 AM

Adult Development is HRC's Program for adults just finishing the Learn to Row (LTR) program and would like to continue rowing this season. The Development Program will carry on from the LTR, expanding rowing concepts and teaching participants the skills they need to become more independent rowers. Crews will develop their rowing fitness as their skills progress through the season.

Practices will take place Monday & Thursday 6-8 & Saturday 8-10 AM.

The fee is $220 and runs until Oct 31.  *** The RCA and RowNS fees have already been paid for the season.***

2021 Adult Fitness Rowing

Adult Fitness Rowing Program ***$494***

The Adult Fitness Rowing Program is for experienced or returning adult rowers, 19 or older as of January 1, 2021, who want to row for fun and fitness while continuing to develop their skills and possibly compete in regattas and who would like to pay online. This program will provide you with the opportunity to row in the morning or evening during the weekdays and on Saturday mornings. Coaches will work with you to improve your technique and meet your fitness goals.  

The cost for the Adult Rowing Program is $494. ($455 club fee; $24 Rowing Canada Aviron Sport fee; $15 RowNS fee)

2021 Adult Learn to Row Session 7 Adult Learn to Row Session 7 Monday & Wednesday, 6-8 PM (July 26, 28 & August 4, 9, 11, 16)   
The Adult Learn to Row Sessions consist of 12 hours of instruction over 6 classes. Adults, 19 or older as of Jan 1, 2021, will learn the basic skills of sculling (each rower has two oars) and sweep rowing (each rower has one oar). Participants will leave with a good understanding of rowing equipment, balance, proper grip, boat handling, safety procedures, steering and knowledge of how to leave/enter the dock area. 
Classes run rain or shine. Upon completion of the Adult Learn to Row Session, participants may register for the Adult Development Rowing Program. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. LTR participants will be sitting in boats with small groups of other participants, without social distancing - all NS Public Health Regulations & Guidelines are followed during these classes.
The cost for the Adult Learn to Row Session is $210. ($171 Club fee; $24 Rowing Canada Aviron fee; $15 RowNS fee) Payment must be received in order to reserve your seat in the boat. No refunds will be issued within 48 hours of the program start date.

The program has a $39 fee to cover the RCA and RowNS fees. 
PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO PAY THE RCA AND ROWNS FEES TO HRC as those fees will be billed to HRC.

2021 Junior Development Program (ages 13-18)

Junior Development Program ***$220***

The junior Development Program will carry on from the LTR, expanding rowing concepts and teaching participants the skills they need to become more independent rowers. Crews will develop their rowing fitness as their skills progress through the season.

Practices for the Junior Development Program run at the same time as the club's Junior Program, Monday thru Saturday (July & August M-F 9:30am-11:30am & Sat 10-12;School Year M-F, 4-6 & Sat 10 - 12).

The fee is $220 and runs until Oct 31.  *** The RCA and RowNS fees have already been paid for the season.***

Junior Fitness Rowing Program  ***$399***

The Junior Fitness Rowing Program is for experienced or returning rowers 13 - 18 years of age who want to row for fun and fitness while continuing to develop their skills and possibly compete in regattas.

The Junior Fitness Rowing Program will provide you with the opportunity to row six times per week. Coaches will work with you to improve your technique and meet your fitness goals while rowing in various types of boats (sweeping and sculling). 

The cost for the Junior Fitness Rowing Program is $399. ($360 club fee; $24 Rowing Canada Aviron Sport fee; $15 RowNS fee)

The classes are designed to give participants the opportunity to try rowing in a fun and relaxed atmosphere with other youth. Participants will learn the basics of sweeping, sculling and boat handling. By the end of the 4 class session, participant will be ready to register and join in the Junior Development Program, where they can continue to row for the rest of the season. LTR participants will be sitting in boats with small groups of other participants, without social distancing - all NS Public Health Regulations & Guidelines are followed during these classes.
 The cost for the Junior Learn to Row Session is $129. ($90 class fee; $24 Rowing Canada Aviron fee; $15 RowNS fee)
No refunds will be issued within 48 hours of the program start date.
